Exhibition "Atmospheres on the ponds of the Dombes" at the Festival of Montier-en-Der in November 2017
We exhibited 20 photographs dedicated to the ambiances of the Dombes ponds during the international nature festival which took place in Montier-en-Der during the month of November 2017.
Our exhibition took place in the town of Droyes located 4 kilometers from Montier-en-Der. We received hundreds of people who came to discover either the Dombes region or the technique of the floating hide.
Showing the Beauties of the Nature of the Dombes
The wildlife exhibition entitled "Atmosheres on the ponds of the Dombes" was intended to show the wild beauties of the wintering and migratory birds that take refuge each year in this huge wetland. We chose live birds only on the ponds.
All the photographs presented during the exhibition were realized from 2012 to 2016 during the months of May and June. The end of spring is a very interesting period in Dombes to photograph birds as it is the breeding season for migratory birds or sedentary birds.
Love parades and couples are usually formed during the months of April and May. This is an opportunity to photograph unusual behaviors such as dances and offerings of Great Crested Grebe. The laying occurs in May. The chicks start to come out of the nests in June. This is the period we prefer because the show is extraordinary. We have photographed at many scenes where adult coots or Great Crested Grebe feed the chicks.
We are always surprised by the young swans leaving their nest to discover the ponds following the parents.
Every year, the show on the ponds is constantly renewed. We never know the feeling of weariness.
But the Dombes is not just the wild beauty of birds living on the ponds. It is also very flat landscapes bathed by soft and subdued lights that welcome us every morning before the first photographic session of the day.
>During all these years, we became aware of how lucky we were to be able to come every year, to photograph these hidden animal treasures.
These 20 artistic and naturalistic photographs show sedentary species such as the gray heron or coots but also species of migratory birds such as the purple heron.
We resigned ourselves to making choices in the hundreds of photos we had. These choices were conditioned by our artistic approach but also by the desire to discover the greatest of these unknown wild beauties. We hope to have achieved our goal.
Exhibiting at the International Nature Festival of Montier-en-Der is a recognition
Exhibiting at the Montier-en-Der festival is a recognition for a wildlife photographer.
For this 2017 vintage, 350 photographers had applied. 90 exhibitions were selected. In these 90 exhibitions, we also count the photographers invited by the festival. These numbers show the difficulty of being retained by the organization. We do not know the selection criteria because an exhibition must be in keeping with the spirit of the festival and must be in the chosen theme.
The festival of Montier-en-Der: a unique place for contacts
This 2017 edition of the Montier-en-Der festival was for us a unique opportunity to create new professional contacts but also to strengthen the links with many trainees who trusted us.
As some trainees have pointed out to us, they feel like they're part of a big family. This is certainly one of the best compliments we can do.
The following photos show the friendship that many interns bring us. Over time, they have become friends who matter to us.
The festival of Montier-en-Der is the place where we can meet again to share our passion for the beauties of nature.

Our business: professional photographers
Our artistic vision
Portfolio: Lights and colors
Portfolio: shades in blacks and whites
We are fascinated and passionate about the beauties of nature. We love to see the landscapes and observe wild animals whether on land or underwater. We have chosen to become professional photographers to share the emotions we feel when we observe nature whether it be on land or underwater. Our goal is to create art with our photographs. We always try to transform the banal into a contemplative and artistic interpretation.
We are wildlife professional photographers, landscape professional photographers and underwater professional photographers. We also strive to document nature with a focus on conservation and education.
We make art prints from our artistic photographs. These art prints are available on our website. We make exhibitions to show all the beauties and the incredible richness of nature that surrounds us.
We also love to share our love for the beauties of nature with other photographers. To communicate our know-how and to exchange our techniques and our points of view, we organize wildlife photography workshops, underwater photography workshops and landscape photography workshops. We gather together people who have the same passion as us for the beautiful photographs taken in nature.
