Fish of Maldives, Indian Ocean.

Screensaver of Maldives wildlife

This screensaver was made with pictures of fish taken in the Maldives in the Indian Ocean. The Maldives is an island nation in the Indian Ocean located in the southern Indian subcontinent, in south India and south-west of Sri Lanka. The country made up of 26 atolls, three isolated islands divided into 20 administrative regions or 1,199 islands in total (just over 200 permanently inhabited), stretches from north to south between the Lakshadweep and the British territory of the Indian Ocean. The myriad of islands and islets is spread over an extremely wide area (nearly 90,000 sq km) extending over 800 km in the latitudinal direction and 130 km in the longitudinal direction. Many of these islands are islands-hotel. To avoid excessive impact on the environment and limit the construction of modern facilities and too elitist (clubs, residences, etc..), The government imposes severe tax on their achievement in the uninhabited islands permanently.

Overall we can define the climate of the Maldives as hot and humid, with temperatures averaging between 26 ° C and 33 ° C. The heat is tempered by the constant presence of light sea breezes that make extremely pleasant tourist stays. It can be said of sea water, which in its transparency and color, which included a temperature never drops below 24 ° C and thus allows the existence of a thriving marine life. The water temperature, generally higher than that of the ocean surrounding the islands (thanks to strong sunlight shallow waters of the lagoons), favors the presence of a flora and fauna underwater as numerous as lush.
