“Musical Notes on Water” – A Collection of Fine Art Photos in Shades of Blacks and Whites
During a trip to Kenya, we chose to spend few days with a tribe of the Masai people near Lake Magadi. Every morning, we went to the cliffs that line the lake to make some art photographs of the sunrise that is spectacular at this time of the day.
One morning, we were lucky to have a whole colony of flamingos that landed on the lake as the sun rose. Immediately, the delicacy of the birds strewn on their high legs evoked for us notes of music. Nothing was ordered, nothing was prepared, but it reigned an extraordinary calm and serenity.
We were faced with a wild musical score. No notes could be played but the whole scene was balanced. A sweet melody of serenity and absolute tranquility could be heard rising from the lake. All the birds moved slowly so as not to break the fragile musical balance they offered us. In any case, that's what we perceived. This magic moment lasted a few minutes as long as the sun was low on the horizon. Suddenly, for some reason that we did not understand, the flamingos flew to another part of the lake. The concert was over. Our ears still resound with that sweet wild melody that rose from Lake Magadi.
