Photo Series in Black and White on the World of Underwater Wildlife

We are passionate about nature photography, especially underwater wildlife. We scuba dive with air tanks, crafting underwater photographs. The underwater world is fascinating because it contains species that are not found on land, and fascinating landscapes covered with sponges or corals. As part of our professional underwater photographers' activity, we create artistic photographs to highlight this lesser known universe for people who have never experienced underwater dives.

However, progressing in the underwater world has very strong constraints. In general, a diver is limited to 3 dives per day and each dive takes about 1 hour. The time required to make photographs is often very limited. An underwater photography adventure is a technical field that requires a lot of expertise and know-how.

The underwater world is unique, a magical place. It leaves room for dreams and imagination. In our photographs, we try to display as many of the underwater beauties as we can. Perhaps we can help protect this magical world over time through our work. Is it not a precious place?

For this particular series, we chose the technique of black and white which conforms to our theme "Shades of Blacks and Whites". Most photographers show the underwater world in color with a multitude of colors. We chose to show it in an unusual and much soberer way. We chose to isolate subjects and concentrate more on rendering textures and light. Black and white is perfectly adapted to our artistic vision, which is based on an artistic and contemplative interpretation of nature.

We do not want to show a bestiary or a naturalistic approach. Our approach is above all to deliver suggestive and creative photographs to create emotions or evoke similar feelings we experienced.

All the underwater regions of the world, stretching from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean through the Red Sea, are affected by this very large underwater animal series. We are not selective. Each dive, every place is always a real discovery, an enchantment.

The advantage of underwater photography is that every place, even if we have dived there several times, continues to be unpredictable and fascinating. When we immerse ourselves, we always wonder what we are going to observe. Apart from a few endemic or very territorial species, the underwater animal world is constantly renewing itself. It is the world in perpetual movement.

This photo series "Shades of blacks and whites of the underwater animal world" gave birth to a collection of photographs of art from the underwater animal world.

Amar and Isabelle Guillen

We are fascinated and passionate about the beauties of nature. We love to see the landscapes and observe wild animals whether on land or underwater. We have chosen to become professional photographers to share the emotions we feel when we observe nature whether it be on land or underwater. Our goal is to create art with our photographs. We always try to transform the banal into a contemplative and artistic interpretation.

We are wildlife professional photographers, landscape professional photographers and underwater professional photographers. We also strive to document nature with a focus on conservation and education.

We make art prints from our artistic photographs. These art prints are available on our website. We make exhibitions to show all the beauties and the incredible richness of nature that surrounds us.

We also love to share our love for the beauties of nature with other photographers. To communicate our know-how and to exchange our techniques and our points of view, we organize wildlife photography workshops, underwater photography workshops and landscape photography workshops. We gather together people who have the same passion as us for the beautiful photographs taken in nature.
