Color Photo Series: Wetland Birds
As we explained when talking about our black-and-white photography project on wetland birds, we have a passion for these animals. What affects us most is the grace of their takeoffs and flights, but we also admire their fishing and hunting techniques.
We can spend hours in a blind observing a great egret or a heron trying to catch fish or frogs. Wetland birds show infinite patience when they are fishing. They are motionless for a long time, scanning the surface of the water. Then, suddenly, their necks extend with extraordinary speed to grasp their prey. In our opinion, it is an extraordinary sight.
We also love the grace with which an egret moves along the banks of a swamp. It lifts its legs carefully and gently places them back in the water. What we find most incredible is the takeoff of a large wading bird. They make no noise whatsoever when taking off. If you are not looking at them, you will not see them. In the case of a swan, it’s a very different sight. The characteristic flap-flam of the takeoff is magical. The swan spreads its wings and begins running on the water to overcome gravity. Then it’s flying in the sky.
These moments that make us dream are the reasons why we wanted to begin this very special photography project.
Color photography not only enables us to showcase the beauty of the birds, but also to highlight the special scenery of the wetlands. In accordance with our photographic vision, we always look for beautiful backgrounds that are in good condition for our photographs. We think of the background as being the "wrapping paper" that surrounds the "gift" (the subject). The wrapping paper is as important as the gift itself. Unlike black and white, which strongly emphasizes the subject, color photography brings out all of the points of interest, from the foreground to the background. Color photography enables us to give a more complete representation of the environment and focus more on the animals’ behavior. Black and white is the language of emotion. Color photography is the language which can emphasize the entire scene.
This project has taken us all over the world, wherever there are wetlands inhabited by birds. We have a special admiration for migratory birds because, besides being beautiful and graceful, they surprise us with their courage and tenacity in traveling hundreds of thousands of miles every season.
We could spend an infinite amount of time studying wetland birds. It gives us indescribable joy to observe them.

We are fascinated and passionate about the beauties of nature. We love to see the landscapes and observe wild animals whether on land or underwater. We have chosen to become professional photographers to share the emotions we feel when we observe nature whether it be on land or underwater. Our goal is to create art with our photographs. We always try to transform the banal into a contemplative and artistic interpretation.
We are wildlife professional photographers, landscape professional photographers and underwater professional photographers. We also strive to document nature with a focus on conservation and education.
We make art prints from our artistic photographs. These art prints are available on our website. We make exhibitions to show all the beauties and the incredible richness of nature that surrounds us.
We also love to share our love for the beauties of nature with other photographers. To communicate our know-how and to exchange our techniques and our points of view, we organize wildlife photography workshops, underwater photography workshops and landscape photography workshops. We gather together people who have the same passion as us for the beautiful photographs taken in nature.
