Big Bend is a national park of the United States. Located in West Texas, this region is part of the Chihuahuan Desert. It has the distinction of containing 190 km of the border between the United States and Mexico.
The Big Bend National Park offers landscapes that are as diverse as they are unexpected. It is covered with both huge desert and mineral areas, as well as ranges blanketed in dense forests and greenery, which are irrigated by the Rio Grande river that defines the border.
Big Bend is far from civilization. It is a protected area that rarely attracts tourists due to the extreme change of temperature in the summer and winter. It is a very wild region that is exactly like Texas where « Everything is Big« . The mineral landscapes are just as impressive as the areas irrigated by the Rio Grande.
Big Bend is a true source of photographic inspiration for me. I like to find the peace and the quietness of the American open spaces. The skies are often very pure due to a lack of pollution.
One of my favorite places is undoubtedly Santa Elena Canyon with its large rock formations that channel the Rio Grande.
The arid and lunar landscapes of Big Bend evoke for me the beginning of the world when nothing existed. When I walk on stony paths, I always have the impression that life will be reborn right in front of my eyes. It is a strange sensation that I experience only in this part of the world. Everything is so pure, so grandiose, and so calm that I have the impression that everything started within these landscapes. Time does not seem to pass here.
