The Story of the Collection
I have created this collection of 10 fine art photographs in White Sand Dunes desert in the state of New Mexico in the United States. This gypsum desert is unique in the world with an area of 442 square kilometers and it is in constant motion.
This desert is the scene of a silent battle between the white sand dunes that swallow on their path the yuccas who try to resist by projecting into heaven their long stems ending with a flower. The outcome of these internecine battles is always to the advantage of the sand that wins tens of meters each year.
This desert is an invitation to silence, tranquility, serenity. The soft, pink light of dawn and dusk invite us to meditate, to think of the perpetual motion and continuing evolution of nature. Nothing can stop these dunes. Yet I am fascinated by their shapes, colors, how they are organized.
