Wildlife Fine Art Photos of Birds: "Bluethroat" in France

The Story of the Collection
During the months of March, April, and May, if you have had the opportunity to go for a walk in the wetlands of the Atlantic coast in France, you may have encountered birds with a clear blue throat. These are the males of the bluethroat species.
The bluethroat is a migratory passerine bird. In France, you will most likely see it in spring, somewhere among the wetlands and marshes of the Atlantic coast. When the temperatures become too low during the winter season, the birds leave for Spain or Africa.
Although its call and song are characteristic during the spring breeding season, it is not always easy to identify by sound, as it is able to imitate the voices of other bird species (one male can imitate more than 30) and even insect voices.
This passerine is extraordinary to observe. It is lively and fast. The males' songs are breathtaking and melodious.
Once every two years, depending on my professional calendar, I go to the coast of Charente-Maritime in the marshes to photograph the Blackbird. It is a protected bird and rather rare, because it is very demanding on the nature of its environment. Moreover, the females brood on the ground. The nest is composed of moss, dry grass, and dead leaves. It is necessary to be incredibly careful when moving because it would be quite easy to push a nest. The ideal technique is the blind technique.
When looking for these creatures, I seek out an interesting area with a few individuals. I return each day to settle under a net. There I wait for the birds to land on branches or heather to sing and proudly mark their territory.
Photographing the Blackbird requires a lot of patience, because the birds are rare and difficult to find. The weather conditions must also be ideal to benefit from a beautiful light. Indeed, the plumage is so beautiful that a ray of sunlight is necessary to highlight all its nuances. Moreover, it is a passerine which has character. To show its beautiful attitudes is to pay tribute to it. These birds' light and carefree spirits reminds me of rays of sunshine.
For this collection of art photos dedicated to the bluethroat, I chose pastel tones. They highlight the birds posed on branches.
