August 2018. Landscape Photo Project in the State of Wyoming to Artistically Photograph Yellowstone National Park

Blue hour at dawn over the lake of Yellowstone.
Blue hour at dawn over the lake of Yellowstone.

August 2018. Each year, we spend a few days in Yellowstone National Park of Wyoming to create artistic photographs of landscapes and animals.

This summer of 2018 was very strange. The temperatures were higher than usual. We did not have any frost in the morning. The cold periods occurred less often and less severely; we did not have the freezing fog we encountered in previous years.

We created photographs of very different landscapes. Our compositions and our framings evoked a more dreamlike, evanescent character.

We experienced many storms, especially in the Lamar Valley. It was an opportunity to capture the tumultuous, expanding clouds. These photos will be featured in our collection of art photographs entitled "Turmoil".

The other highlight of our trip involved the many bison in Hayden Valley. We viewed thousands of bison during our trip. Young bison were also very numerous. Since food was abundant in the Yellowstone meadows, the females gave birth to many young.

Finally, a strange phenomenon we found is that there were few deer this year. In previous years, we photographed these majestic creatures, both male and female, by the hundreds. However, during this trip, we saw many female deer but no stags. The numbers were fewer.

This year, since the weather was cloudier, the lights were much softer. We were most creative when incorporating the reflections on the water and transparency of the lakes. With these photographs, we have created very abstract and evocative works of art.

We experienced tremendous blue hours. We were able to capture nuances that seem to extend into infinity. It appears as if there is no horizon. The photographs are very relaxing and easy to comprehend. The moods illuminated are unreal.

These photographs we took on the field are intended for the creation of art prints for our "Around the World" or "Around the Mind" collections.

August 2018. Landscape Photo Project to Artistically Photograph the Grand Teton

August 2018. Recently, we traveled to the state of Wyoming in the United States to capture photographs in the Grand National Park. Through this trip, we continued our special project that began several years ago. Our goal is to make 12 black and white photos of this region dominated by a mountain range that rises to more than 4000 meters.

This year, we were very bothered by the smoke billowing from the fires in California and Oregon. The prevailing western winds carried the smoke for thousands of kilometers, thus invading the park in the journey. For two days, we were blessed by a northern wind that cleaned the Grand Teton. This allowed us to make interesting photos.

The Grand Teton National Park is home to many rivers, including the famous Snake River immortalized by Ansel Adams. This is not the only waterway that crosses the great meadows where one can gaze upon the herds of bison. This year, our artistic approach was based on the blue hours, that is, dawn or twilight. We focused on the reflections on the water and the transparency of the lakes.

The Grand Teton is a perfect area for early morning blue hours because of the sun's orientation when it rises. It is relatively easy to position yourself between the rivers and photograph the Grand Teton in this bluish atmosphere.

This year, we happened to encounter several herds of bison in the large grasslands including those at the foot of Grand Teton. We captured pictures that vary from our usual photographs.

To avoid the swarming crowds of people during the sunrise and sunset, we arrived early each morning to ensure a view of iconic places like Oxbow Bend and Schwabacher's Landing.

For photographs captured during the day, we chose black and white. While the structures and forms of the Grand Teton in photographs can be displayed according to value, the black and white contrasts the subject directly without having digressions as the color sometimes does.

The Grand Teton is a difficult region to photograph because the best locations are often discreet and well hidden. Our experience acquired throughout the years has encouraged us to create some very interesting shots for our special project. However, there is still much work to be done that we will soon return to complete our collection.

The photos that we propose in this news are raw and come directly from the camera. They will be used to create fine art collections.

About Amar Guillen, Creator of Fine Art Prints of Nature
As a photographer capturing the artistic essence for several decades, I have mastered the art of crafting an authentic experience for art enthusiasts and collectors of visual art.
When I observe my surroundings, be it friends, family, relationships, or professional contacts, I see souls in perpetual motion. Every moment of their existence is engulfed by daily hassles, work concerns, social media, online or televised information streams, and videos on the web.
Every minute, they strive to accomplish something, fearing losing ground and feeling marginalized in this frenzied society. Imprisoned by an oppressive schedule, the essential eludes them, drowned in the tumult of daily life. Is it really crucial to watch yet another cat video on the internet? Is it necessary to post twenty daily messages on social media?
Despite this, they remain constantly stressed and anxious about the challenges of the world, without being able to influence these monumental problems. It is at this moment that my artistic nature photographs come into play. Those who have had the privilege of hanging one of my works in their personal or professional space have expressed a radical transformation in their lives.
Every day, contemplating these works of art immerses them in tranquility, inner peace, and rediscovered serenity. They then understand that nature has the power to unravel tensions, to encourage reflection on the essential. Artistic photographs thus become open windows to the wonders of nature.
I have chosen to share the best of myself by helping others discover their identity, personality, style, all while reconnecting with nature. Take the time to explore my artistic photographs if you wish to reveal your true essence. Once hung in your space, your view of the world will be transformed.
Amar Guillen is a creator of fine art prints of nature.

If everyone learned to know, respect, and preserve nature, our world would be transformed into a haven of peace where everyone would find their place.
