The Story of the Collection
The paradises are imaginary places in which I can escape and come to know a state of bliss. These enchanting places provide wellness, quietness, and peace. In these worlds, I am privileged with the capabilities of completing any good action my heart desires. Since the brokenness of humanity has been healed in that place, I am not subject to the laws currently governing modern society.
These places of delight exist in my imagination only. I have been traveling the world for years and at each stop, I discover constraints or rules that I do not like.
The paradises are small sanctuaries that belong only to me. I take refuge in thought when I face complex difficulties. Amidst turmoil in my daily lives, the idea of paradise is a way for me to destress.
Throughout my life, I have created small paradises in which I have taken refuge mentally when I was a child. These places were a solace to me when life was frustrating or overwhelming.
I created this collection of artistic photographs of nature to reflect those wonderful moments of carelessness I had when I was a kid. Back then, I am able to escape from confining territories and rules placed upon me by others. In my mini paradises, I am free to do what I wanted without being subjected to any law.
I called this collection of art prints "Forgotten Paradises" in memory of all those incredible worlds which I built as a child in my imagination. Looking back now, I realized that I wanted to fulfill my dreams one day when I grew up as adult.
Why have I forgotten all my imaginary paradises? Why did I never build these worlds when I had the opportunity? Why did not I install stronger foundations?
I have certainly suffered from society’s laws whether they are good or bad. I have become lost on my way to accomplishing my dreams. My hopeful, childlike illusions have dissipated.
In recent years, since I started working as professional photographer dedicated to artistic photography, I have decided to make up for lost time. I chose to rebuild my life according to specific values and ideas.
I often think back to my childhood dreams. I remember the adventures I wanted to embark upon and the countries I wanted to visit. In reminiscing, I found the path that I had previously departed from.
These photographs are symbolic of my state of mind. They were created from real scenes. They were not built from photomontages. I used the play of reflections and the transparency of water, a natural element that I deeply enjoy incorporating into my work. I simply used personal filters to accentuate the effects and better reflect my emotions in the art.
These artistic prints display the paths I have taken to achieve my favorite childhood dreams. My forgotten paradises have partly become a reality. Nevertheless, I often return to dreaming of other places even more beautiful and more peaceful. The imagination is endless. But how nice it is to be able to dream of new lands where one can start afresh. It's amazing to be able to live out forgotten imaginary paradises.
