An Electrical Flame File Shell in Papua
It took us a long time to take a picture of the electrical arc inside the animal. It was during a dive in one of the mangrove of Raja Ampat in Papua that we were lucky to shoot that picture. The flame file shell inhabit narrow cracks, crevices and recesses. Valves usually hidden with only mantle and tentacles exposed. They can swim with jerky movements by repeatedly snapping valves open and shut.
