November 2016. Landscape Photo Project in the Valley of Fire in Nevada

Sunrise on Valley of Fire in Nevada.
Sunrise on Valley of Fire in Nevada.

November 2016. We spent four days in the Valley of Fire in the state of Nevada. This extraordinary valley, named because of its glowing shapes and colors, is located one hour from the city of Las Vegas. The Valley of Fire is not well known because it is in a remote desert zone away from major roads.

When arriving at the edge of the valley, it is at the bend of a turn that one perceives a red area, while the rest of the area is gray. It is a real surprise, a great joy, for the photographers of landscapes. The Valley of Fire perfectly fits our artistic approach with calm, serene and often ethereal atmospheres.

At first, photographing the Valley of Fire is not as simple as it seems. During our first fortuitous visit a few years ago, we focused on photographing the reliefs from the road that crosses the valley. To the eye, the reliefs appear rugged and very colorful. When we developed our first photos, we realized that the reliefs were flat. We were unable to account for the volumes and textures present.

The following year, we journeyed back to take many dirty or pebbly paths to discover photograph opportunities. That is when we realized the photographic potential of the Valley of Fire. It is an incredible place with more eccentric shapes than other locations. Following this session, we made four photos for a collection of fine art prints. Since then, we return every year to this place, which we come to know a little more each time. The amazing thing is that we stay a little longer each year. This year, we spent four days to continue the collection "Lights and Colors of the Valley of Fire".

The best time to photograph the Valley of Fire is in the fall during the early morning lights, just as the sun rises. The middle of the afternoon is also excellent because the grazing lights allow to show the beauty of the reliefs. The main difficulty of the place is the management of the overcast shadows.

During our photographic strolls in the Valley of Fire, we are always surprised by the calm of the place. This is one of the spots where we are able to listen and savor the silence.

This session fits perfectly into our project devoted to the landscapes of the United States. The photographs we are going to develop following this session of November 2016 will reinforce our collections "Lights and Colors".

November 2016. Landscape Photo Project about the Grand Canyon

November 2016. Like every year, we are back on the south rim of the Grand Canyon in the state of Arizona. We continue to work on our project "The Landscapes of the United States" whether in "shades of blacks and whites" or "lights and colors".

Each year, we experience the same shock. The Grand Canyon is huge, deep, and the warm colors are amazing. This time, we decided to photograph only with a long focal length to capture details. We chose the 200mm. Most photos are greatly framed to show details of lights.

There are not enough superlatives to qualify the Grand Canyon. Everything is disproportionate, whether the depth, the width or the length. The landscapes are absolutely dizzy. The colors are absolutely incredible with very warm tones on the rocks but also very pure greens for the trees. This year, we once again stayed on the south rim. Because the weather conditions were unpredictable, it often prevented us from going down with the cowboys to photograph the waterfalls that flow at the bottom of the canyon.

For this trip, we preferred the morning colors and patches of light with warm tones. We have focused on brightly lit areas surrounded by shade. It was necessary to be present 30 minutes before the sunrise to seize these magic moments when the world lights up.

Unlike the trip of the previous year, it did not snow. The temperatures were very cold. We were able to make photographs in accordance with our artistic approach. Some of these photographs will enrich our art collections dedicated to "shades of blacks and whites" or those devoted to "lights and colors".

About Amar Guillen, Creator of Fine Art Prints of Nature
As a photographer capturing the artistic essence for several decades, I have mastered the art of crafting an authentic experience for art enthusiasts and collectors of visual art.
When I observe my surroundings, be it friends, family, relationships, or professional contacts, I see souls in perpetual motion. Every moment of their existence is engulfed by daily hassles, work concerns, social media, online or televised information streams, and videos on the web.
Every minute, they strive to accomplish something, fearing losing ground and feeling marginalized in this frenzied society. Imprisoned by an oppressive schedule, the essential eludes them, drowned in the tumult of daily life. Is it really crucial to watch yet another cat video on the internet? Is it necessary to post twenty daily messages on social media?
Despite this, they remain constantly stressed and anxious about the challenges of the world, without being able to influence these monumental problems. It is at this moment that my artistic nature photographs come into play. Those who have had the privilege of hanging one of my works in their personal or professional space have expressed a radical transformation in their lives.
Every day, contemplating these works of art immerses them in tranquility, inner peace, and rediscovered serenity. They then understand that nature has the power to unravel tensions, to encourage reflection on the essential. Artistic photographs thus become open windows to the wonders of nature.
I have chosen to share the best of myself by helping others discover their identity, personality, style, all while reconnecting with nature. Take the time to explore my artistic photographs if you wish to reveal your true essence. Once hung in your space, your view of the world will be transformed.
